About Familara
We started with a simple belief: families deserve practical support, not pressure
Familara was built to offer a quiet, useful kind of help — the sort that respects where a family already is and asks nothing more than they're ready to give.

How Familara came to be in Phuket
Familara grew out of a straightforward observation: families living in Phuket — particularly international and mixed-background households — often had no obvious place to turn for the kind of general, non-clinical support that just helps things run more smoothly. Not every difficult conversation needs a professional. Not every messy pile of paperwork needs a lawyer.
We started by running small group seminars on listening and communication at a rented room near Old Town. Word spread quietly through the expat community, and requests came in for something more focused — help with household records, support for a structured family discussion. Each offering came out of a real need, not a business plan.
Today Familara operates from a small office in Talat Yai. The work is personal in scale and deliberate in pace. We don't take on more than we can do well, and we don't use language that overpromises.
Our Mission
To offer families in Phuket straightforward tools and spaces for clearer communication and better-kept records — without judgment, obligation, or jargon.
Our Approach
Practical over theoretical. Small-group over lecture-hall. Plain English. No pressure to continue. No claims about outcomes we can't stand behind.
Our Values
Honesty about what we do and don't offer. Discretion with everything families share with us. Respect for each household's own way of doing things.
The People
Who you'll be working with
Familara is a small team. You won't be passed between departments. The same people who set up your session are the ones who run it.
Nattaya Choksi
Founder & Lead Facilitator
Nattaya has spent over a decade working in community education across Southeast Asia. She set up Familara after noticing how few calm, non-clinical options existed for families navigating everyday friction.
James Mercer
Records & Organisation Specialist
James developed the Family Records Organisation system after years of helping households — particularly expat families — build reliable document habits from scratch. He runs all onboarding walkthroughs.
Pimchanok Thongchai
Seminar Coordinator
Pimchanok manages seminar scheduling, participant communication, and logistics. She keeps every session running on time and ensures participants have what they need before they arrive.
How We Work
Standards we hold to
These aren't policies displayed on a wall. They're the things we return to when deciding how to handle any situation that comes up.
Confidentiality
Nothing shared in a session or inquiry is passed to third parties. We store only what is needed to operate and we hold it carefully.
Neutral stance
Facilitators do not take sides, advise on personal decisions, or steer families toward particular outcomes. The work is to hold the space, not to fill it.
Clear scope
Familara provides educational and organisational support. We do not offer health, legal, or financial services and we say so plainly. Families know exactly what to expect before they book.
Prepared sessions
Each seminar and facilitation session follows a clear structure prepared in advance. Participants receive an outline before attending so there are no surprises.
Post-session follow-up
After any session we send a brief written summary of the structure covered (not content shared by participants) so families have something useful to refer back to.
Data protection
We collect only the contact details required to book and manage sessions. We follow Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and do not use participant data for marketing without consent.
Family communication support in Phuket
Familara operates at the intersection of community education and household organisation. The work we do fits within a growing area of family support services — one that recognises how much of everyday family friction comes down to unclear communication habits and disorganised shared records, rather than deep structural problems.
Phuket's international population includes many households navigating the particular complexity of living across cultures and languages. Seminars designed for general English-speaking adults in Thailand need to account for this variety — the different expectations people bring, the different background assumptions about how family conversations should go. Familara's materials are shaped around these realities.
Good record-keeping and clear communication are modest ambitions, but they compound over time. A household that can find its documents and speak to each other without things escalating has less to worry about on a daily basis. That's the kind of small, steady improvement Familara is here to support.
